The MBTI or Myers-Briggs is a personality inventory based on Carl Jung’s “Psychological Types” theory. It is used as a tool to help students understand what gives them energy, how they process information, how they make decisions, and how they order their lives. They can then make decisions about how their personality might fit in a particular career environment. The added material will also give them careers to consider based on their personality. This is taken online and will take about 15min. to complete. It requires a 30min. interp session with Kirsten Brue to get and go over the results.
The Strong Interest Inventory is an inventory which measures student’s likes and interests regarding six general career categories. It then compares their likes and interests with those in their data base and suggests particular careers for them to explore further. The assumption is that since they have similar likes and interests with those that like their occupation, the student may like that occupation as well. The results will also suggest typical college majors that people with their general themes tend to choose. This is taken online and will take about 30min. to complete. It requires a 30min. interp session with Kirsten Brue to get and go over the results.
