Advertisements—including faculty/staff recruitment announcements and notices of special programs and events—are a highly visible communication tool that reinforces Northwestern’s image as an institution of excellence. Although ad designs can vary greatly, they also play an important role in creating a consistent and professional image for the college.
Ads should be well designed. Northwestern’s word mark should appear as a signature at the bottom of ads. It is recommended the word mark be used in positive form for black-and-white reproduction. For four-color ads, use the process formulas so the word mark matches the correct PMS colors. Take care to ensure your ad maintains the proper amount of white space around the word mark.
